For my second honors project, I proposed my own idea of a presentation. My presentation was on Edna St. Vincent Millay. I based my project heavily on the author interview project. I used the questions that were required to answer in that project, but I presented them in a different manner. Instead of just typing it up, I wrote all the information in the form of a script. I used the script to present to the class as Edna St. Vincent Millay. The day of my presentation, I got in time period appropriate clothing and talked to the class as my author, giving a presentation on my life and what I wrote about. The process was very fun. I went online and found several websites that gave me the information that I needed, and wrote my story based on those websites from the point of view of Edna St. Vincent Millay. As there were plenty of websites on her life, I did not find the process of getting information very difficult. The more difficult part was getting the right kind of information, and being able to present it in a way that was less report-like and more conversation-like. I was generally very satisfied with the product. Being able to present to the class in costume was very fun. I think I was able to get a good overview of Edna’s life for my classmates, which was my goal with this project. Overall, this project was a lot of fun for me. I learned a lot about Edna, and I’m glad I was able to come up with a way to present it more creatively.
